Classes
Due to the importance of the WEC Core Classes, they are available in four different formats:
- An online class with the steps detailed in text and the option of viewing animated screen shots using Flash movies. Please see the About Classes instructions below.
- The same online class as above except with only the animated screen shots using Flash movies.
- A PDF document that you can print out
- Live training sessions using a PowerPoint presentation containing the same Flash movies. Please monitor the Workshops page for training times and locations.
You will get the same information in the same order using any of the three formats. Here is the current class:
- WEC 101: Getting Started - Flash Only, PDF Document
- WEC 102: Backend Basics - Flash Only, PDF Document
- WEC 103: Rich Text Editor - Flash Only, PDF Document
- WEC 104: Administration - Flash Only, PDF in Development
- WEC 105: Getting Assistance - Flash Only, PDF in Development
Note: You need the free Adobe Reader to view or print PDF documents.
We are in the process of splitting the original "Getting Started with the Web-Empowered Church" document into multiple "WEC Core Classes." This document is being phased out, but it is still a valuable training document. This document has about 60 page and many graphics. As a result, the file is over 4 MB in size.
About Classes
Classes are made up of a logically ordered sequence of selected WEC How-Tos. Each How-To can be thought of as a "mini-class."
Instructions: To follow the steps in the class, please click on each link in sequence. When you click on a link, the How-To corresponding to that link will appear below the list of How-Tos. You have the option of reading the steps in text form or following along in the Flash movie. The Flash movie walks you through the process with a series of screenshots. To view the movies, you must have Flash installed and you may need to allow popups if you have them blocked.
Topical Classes
Once you have completed the core WEC 100 series classes above, you are ready for Topical Classes. Pick whatever topics you are interested in and in any order you choose. Since Topical Classes are designed to be taken any time, some of the How-Tos may be repeated; so feel free to skip past anything you are already familiar with.
